This Is Not The End Of The World

A few things to keep in mind as we go into a very confusing and unknown phase of human civilization:

1. This is not the end of the world or of humanity. Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years and we'll get through this one, whatever happens.

2. Our modern society is way out of balance with the natural world. Perhaps this is exactly what is needed to kick us in the pants and give us the motivation to make necessary changes in how we interact with our home planet.

3. Even if you get the virus, it's not a death sentence. It's similar to the flu (but can be severe for some). Viruses have been around for thousands of years and are always circulating around the planet. This is by no means the deadliest disease we've ever faced.

4. You can take control by focusing on your health, both physically and mentally in order to not get sick even if you interact with someone else who is.

5. It's important to be in the moment and what's actually happening in your own world, despite whatever is happening in the rest of the world. Our information age inundates us with everything that is happening around the globe, the vast majority of which we can't do anything about. And this affects our mental health in detrimental ways.

6. Being in the moment doesn't mean you ignore what's happening in the world or disregard the future. Taking action is also important, and being prepared to take action in the future. So try to find a balance between living your life and not getting carried away with everything that's happening, while also being aware of what's happening and how it could affect you in the future and being prepared to take action if necessary.

7. Get off the internet and connect with the real world more.

8. Get out in nature and get away from modern society as much as possible.

9. Get into your body. Hike, bike, run, swim, work out, do yoga.

10. Meditate. It's free. No matter your circumstance you can do it, and change your mind.

11. Connect with real people. Of course, we're now in a new paradigm in which the virus spreads through human contact, so we also have to keep that in mind. I'm not isolating myself from people for the time being. But depending on where you are in the world and who you've been in contact with, we need to consider whether or not we should be connecting with other people. Everyone will have to come to their own determination on that one.

12. The one certainty is that we all will die someday. Don't let fear of sickness cripple you from living your life. It was always a risk waking up and going out into the world anyway. There's one more risk now that we didn't have before, to add to the list of millions of risks that are already out there.

13. You own your mind. It's up to you whether you choose to claim power over your mind or not. Don't let fear take over your mind and take your power away from you. Choose to take charge of your mental state. There are lots of ways to do this. The most important thing is the intent to do so. If you decide to take control, you are in control. If you don't decide to take control, you aren't in control.

14. Find the balance between helping yourself and helping others. Don't neglect either one.

15. If you can do something, and you feel that it's the right thing to do, then do it. Otherwise don't exhaust your mental state with worrying about all the things you think you should be doing.

16. There is nothing wrong with living an abundant life. There is something wrong with greed. Consider the difference, especially depending on current circumstances.

17. Everything does in fact happen for a reason. It couldn't happen otherwise. That's not just a cliche, it's a law of the universe.

18. Everything that happens contains a lesson. If something happens in your reality, try to learn the lesson and grow from it.

19. We will create our future. It is not determined.

20. Reality is a mystery. We will never understand it. But we can learn about it. And the more we learn, the more power we will have to live in a reality that we enjoy experiencing.

Great list, all valid points. Glad you're in a good space to ride this out, we'll be fine eventually and then once again we can enjoy your exploits around this amazing planet!
